Biography
Bridgette Kelsey is a Melbourne born soprano whose passion and appreciate for classical music started at a young age through Piano lessons. From there she found her love for singing and started her classical vocal training in high school. Bridgette completed her Bachelor of Music majoring in classical vocal performance in 2019 at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music. Just recently in 2024 she completed her Bachelor of Music Honours year at the Queensland Conservatorium with first class honours and in 2025 completed a postgraduate certificate.
Bridgette has received many performance opportunities in concerts, operatic choruses and lead operatic roles. Notably she was involved in the Australian premiere of Pierangelo Valtinoni’s ‘Il Mago di Oz’ as a member of the opera chorus with Victorian Opera in 2022. Bridgette made her debut in a leading role in 2024 as Lili Veit in Franz Schubert’s ‘Lilac Time’ with the Gilbert and Sullivan Opera Victoria (GSOV). She performed the role of Una Novizia in ‘Suor Angelica’ with the Queensland Conservatorium in 2024. Most recently she performed the role of Adele in Johann Strauss’s ‘Die Fledermaus’ with the GSOV in 2025.
She is passionate about championing contemporary new music and frequently collaborates with Australian composer Robert McIntyre, having premiered several of his works. In August this year a curated concert featuring new Australian composers was performed at the Melbourne Recital Centre, presented by MRC.
